Who we are
Tech Plan Genie is operated by Green Parrot Education LLC (“we”, “us”). We provide an AI-assisted technology planning tool for K-12 schools and districts. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver the product:
- Account info: name, work email, and password (hashed) so you can sign in.
- School profile: school name, district, city, logo, brand colors, student/faculty counts, mission, vision, and the people you list on your task force.
- Module responses: answers you provide in Surveys, Rubrics, Checklists, SWOT, Financials, Learning Path, Tech Plan editor, EOY Report, and Genie Chat.
- Uploaded files: photos and documents you attach to your Tech Plan or End-of-Year Report.
- Usage data: basic logs (page visits, errors, IP address, browser) used to keep the service reliable and secure.
We do not collect student personally identifiable information. Tech Plan Genie is designed for use by school staff (leaders, teachers, IT) — not students. Aggregate counts (e.g. “500 students”) are not student PII.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the Tech Plan Genie product.
- Generate AI outputs (Tech Plan, EOY Report, recommendations) from your inputs.
- Send you account, security, and product update emails. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
- Aggregate anonymized data across schools to surface trends (e.g. “most-used apps”) for our internal product research and, eventually, for our published education research. Anonymized means no individual school is identifiable.
AI processing
We use third-party AI providers (Anthropic) to generate Tech Plan and report content from your inputs. Your inputs are sent to these providers solely to produce your output, and they are covered by the providers' enterprise no-training agreements — your data is not used to train their models.
Sharing
We never sell your data. We share information only with:
- Sub-processors who help us run the service (Supabase for database/auth, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email, Anthropic for AI). Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
- Other people in your school or district with whom you choose to collaborate (e.g. task force members granted access by your account).
- Legal authorities when required by law.
FERPA, COPPA, and student privacy
Tech Plan Genie is not a student-facing product and does not collect student-level records covered by FERPA. We treat any school-provided information as confidential and only access it to operate, secure, or improve the service. If your district requires a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) before sign-up, contact us at the email below and we'll send our standard DPA.
Data security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data at rest is stored in Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security so a school can only see its own data. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We follow least-privilege access for our internal team.
Your choices
- Access & export: You can view and download your Tech Plan and EOY Report from inside the product.
- Correction: You can edit any of your school profile or module responses at any time.
- Deletion: Email us at the address below to delete your account and associated data. We'll respond within 30 days.
International users
We host data in the United States. If you're using Tech Plan Genie from outside the US (including Latin America and other regions we serve), you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the US.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll notify account holders by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
